PRACTICAL GUIDE / CHOOSING A GROWTH CHANNEL

Do I need SEO, paid advertising,
or both?

SEO helps people find you when they are already looking. Paid advertising can put a message in front of a chosen audience sooner. Both depend on a clear offer and a website that helps a visitor take the next step.

Start with how customers buy.

If someone has a known problem and searches for a solution, useful service pages and technical SEO matter. If customers do not yet know your solution exists, advertising can introduce it. Many businesses need both over time: search helps capture existing intent while media builds awareness, but a small budget should not be split across channels without a reason.

Choose the first investment.

  1. Fix the foundation: Make sure important pages load, can be indexed, describe your services and locations accurately, and offer a clear way to contact you.
  2. Look for demand: What do buyers ask before hiring? What questions are your current pages answering? Search Console can show actual queries when data is available.
  3. Set a time horizon: Search improvements take time to be discovered and evaluated. Paid media may bring visits faster, but spending stops when the campaign stops.
  4. Measure the inquiry: Compare qualified conversations and sales opportunities, not rankings alone or clicks alone.

If the site cannot turn relevant visits into inquiries, buying more visits usually compounds the waste. If you need a short-term test while building search visibility, agree on a narrow audience, message, landing page, budget, and follow-up plan.
